My last interviewer himself said that if you go into a Pipeline route in your career, the Look dev will be only available if you prove you have what it takes to be a VFX/Look Dev Artist, and you’ll be given Pipeline jobs otherwise -> Pigeon Hole
this stuck out to me. The only thing I would say is something you already said yourself. “if you prove you have what it takes.” Sure for a year or two you might not jump straight into what you want to do. but you are going to learn valuable things. you are going to meet people. and if you really want something, you go get it. you only get pigeon holed if you let it happen, you can always quit, find a new job, move, whatever. sure a lot of people may not have the drive/chance to but, idk I feel like it’s a persons issue, not just “how it is.”
and if your having trouble being motivated, take a shitty job. light a fire.
