Trouble Deleting Transforms Nodes

I’m having trouble in Maya 2019 while parenting joints together to build a skeleton.
Maya keeps generating these transform nodes into the outliner hierarchy.
They are very difficult to delete, because they are part of the hierarchy.
Freeze transforms, deleting history, or optimizing scene does not work.
I have also tried aligning all scales attributes to 1.

Did you also set the transform’s scale to 1,1,1? Also the transform’s shear should be 0,0,0. I think those are the only attributes that would cause that. But you have to make sure it is neutralized all the way up the hierarchy above the joint.
