Polyarc is searching for a skillful Senior Technical Artist who enjoys leading efforts to optimize and ship games at the highest levels of quality possible. Here you will work with passionate game developers at the bleeding edge of immersive entertainment. Your focus is to solve problems, set standards, and apply ingenuity to go above and beyond the technical limits of a given platform, all while contributing to our values of collaboration, mentorship, accountability, player value, and creative expression. Responsibilities
- Define, implement, and maintain best practices aimed at shipping games on multiple platforms
- Work with multiple teams on a variety of projects
- Evaluate existing workflows and improve upon them as necessary
- Collaborate with other game developers across all disciplines on creative ideas and solutions
- Help maintain the artistic vision up against the technical limitations of each platform
- Educate other developers on content workflows, optimization techniques, and forward-facing trends
Qualifications
- Professional experience optimizing and shipping complex games
- Strong understanding of content creation tools, real-time rendering models, and graphics optimization techniques
- Understanding of and openness to new tools, workflows, and industry progress within your field
- An active, passionate interest in multiple aspects of game development
- Excellent collaboration skills with a willingness to provide and accept player-focused feedback and solutions
Pluses
- Experience working with Unreal Engine
- Experience building shaders/materials
- Experience working with Houdini
- Experience programming in C++, Python, or other high-level programming languages
