@speuzer: Is it possible to write to a 3d render target from blueprint?
@Martin_Baadsgaard: There is a cloud painting tool in content examples that probably uses a material with a parameter set to do the draw but should at least show an approach
@speuzer: I’ve looked into the cloud painter, it paints in 2d and converted to 3d based on some profile curves. I’ve poked around quite a bit in editor, seems like you just can’t do anything with a 3d render target

It might have been before 3d RTs where he just “folds” a 2d RT
@speuzer The alternative is the (IMHO very underutilized) ability to have a simulation stage in Niagara that iterates a 3d RT
And if you want, you can spawn particles for debugging

@speuzer: I found this post from Brucks about using fake 3d textures to get around the lack of functionality. This works for me right now.
