Water Splashes with nParticles

Hi all,

I’m pretty new to vfx at the moment and I’m trying to create something similar to this.

There is a downloadable scene file there but I couldn’t make heads or tails of it really. The artist described how he did it but it was really vague.

“I used a poly surface for the particles to collide & linger on the water surface, which was generated from maya pond by converting fluids to polygon.
The splash is emitted from a crown shape surface & gave sum values to inherit attribute to get sum surface velocity direction. & for the motion of foam I used volume axis field to give sum noise or pattern in the foam. splash is delibrately made big with respect to ball shape whale…:-)”
