TECHNICAL ARTIST

We are looking for a Technical Artist who would be responsible for supporting the creative intent of Creature Technology Co. projects with technical solutions and tools.
CORE DUTIES
- Rig creatures, working with engineers to achieve accurate results
- Create and maintain rigs using proprietary rig-building pipeline
- Participate in code review process with other team members
- Advancing procedural workflows
- Project-specific tools and methods
- Creation of technical assets to aid design
- Process review and documentation
- General support for the other departments where CG/CAD/Code can help with their production tasks
- Take active responsibility for own Occupational Health and Safety and assist to maintain a safe and healthy workplace at CTC more broadly
- Comply with Creature Technology’s policies and procedures and with relevant legislation and regulations
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
- Demonstrated experience of CG asset creation and FX within a production environment.
- Strong communication skills and effective at communicating with different audiences - designers, engineers, managers etc.
- Detail-oriented with a strong ability to multitask
- Problem-solving abilities
- Python experience (3+ years)
- Understanding of object-oriented programming concepts, especially subclassing and abstract classes
- Pipeline experience with Maya and other 3rd party tools
- Real-time project creation (Unreal and Unity)
- Organized workflow and thorough documentation (latter can be using Confluence)
- Ability to identify areas where technical tools can save time or produce a better Animated Figure
- Collegial attitude to work environment, willingness to assist all departments
- Flexibility to adapt to evolving work demands and schedules
