We have a very interesting Technical Art Director (permanent remote) position come up with a famous MMO studio. They are a Unity Engine and 3D Studio Max shop. And seeking someone who understands 3D content creation and implementation. This person needs to have team management skills. Be comfortable leading an internal team of 10 artists and 2 external art houses. They seek a take charge person.

As Technical Art Director, you bridge the gap between Art and Programming. You will define technical content creation methods and processes. Your joining a well-established team of developers working on an exciting, brand new AAA title in development for PC, Steam, PS5 and Xbox X.

Not only can you lead a team of internal and external Artists, you are an Artist in your own right, but also can code in C# and MaxScript. Here you will work with in-house engineers to develop appropriate art tools, pipelines, scripts, and plug-ins necessary to ensure high productivity of the designers, artists, and other team members.

You will rig, skin, animate and prepare 3D Art Assets and implement them into the game. Write code to enable or enhance interaction between game elements. Write shaders to create the final look of art assets. Create amazing visual effects that bring action and vibrance to game events.

To Qualify:

  • Prior Game Industry experience with PC, Steam or Console games.
  • C#, Unity, expert in at least one 3D package, preferably 3D Studio Max, Zbrush, Blender and Substance Painter.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of modeling, texturing, shading, surfacing, rigging, animation, lighting, rendering, compositing, etc.
  • Strong understanding of game development frameworks and methodologies.
  • Experienced with cross team development and working with external vendors and partners.
