I’m thinking about creating embroidery like stitches in Maya, but i have not figured out yet how to approach this kind of task. I’ve looked for some other platforms and what kind of techniqes people are using.

Any way to replicate similar thing in maya or is there some kind of script aviable? Or maybe there’s a better way to do stitching patterns inside maya?
Results should be realistic and they are shot fairly close up to the camera.
