Fabric Engine 2 at Siggraph 2015, hope some of you can make it

This is cross-posted in a couple of places, but I figured you guys would appreciate what we’re showing. If you’re going to be at the show then i recommend attending the Kraken rigging session at 12pm where Eric Thivierge (lead rigging TD at Hybride) will be showing the new cross-DCC rigging system built with Fabric. We also showing the new Unreal 4 integration at 5pm, which I figure might be of interest here. We’ll be recording all of the sessions, so don’t worry if you can’t make it.

Anyway, here’s the original post:

Hi everyone - we’re gearing up for Siggraph and it’s going to be a good one.

There’s lots going on at the show, you can see what we’re up to here: http://fabricengine.com/siggraph-2015/

If you register for the user group then you’ll get some freebies, otherwise you are at the whims of our remaining stock

Hope to meet some of you there.

Cheers,

Paul

p.s. if you have no clue what Fabric is, we made a thing:

I can’t wait to see more of Kraken and the Unreal integration. I’m sure that will be the tipping point for me to jump onto Fabric. Aside from being a fanboy of all the videos and cool shit you guys are doing.

thanks Randall, we appreciate the support. The Kraken project is looking very cool and people are responding well to the UE integration in private demos this week. I’m hoping next week will be a jumping off point for a lot of people

I was at a bunch of the demos this week and Fabric looks really powerful and cool - but I was really struggling to see what the actually applicable use-cases would be for a traditional games content pipeline (disclaimer: I missed the Kraken demo). I think more direct user-stories for those use-cases would go a long way. Seems great for making procedural content, which is something that games pipelines typically don’t do.

Hey all, me again. We’ve now got Psyop’s session up: http://fabricengine.com/siggraph-2015-user-group-sessions/ - some really cool stuff in there from Jonah: hair sim, jiggle and scatter tools. Hope you enjoy it.
