When I’m rigging, I make my controls with transparent colored NURBs surfaces (Each one has either a transparent red, green, blue, cyan, or orange lambert shader applied to them). The animators I’ve worked with seem to like the look, but sometimes the controls cover too much too much of the model. A few of them want to view them as wireframe without seeing their character models as wireframe. I haven’t been able to find any way to achieve this look.
I’m considering creating NURBs curves along the wireframe of each control and parenting the shape node under the Surface ctrl. That would be A LOT of work though, even if it was scripted.
Do any of you have an idea of how to achieve this look?
