[3ds Max] Link Constraint Flipping? No Keep Initial Offset?



I have a joint and controller that do not have the same pivot point. (and it has to remain that way). They need to be constrained. As such, I need a “maintain/keep offset” option.

Unfortunately, it seems like the Link Constraint do not have any. Is there a way around this?

P.S. Correct me if I’m wrong but Link Constraint is equivalent to Parent Constraint to Maya.

I haven’t used Max in a few years, could you use an offset group as a parent of your joint? Create a transform that has your control’s pivot and then make it the parent of the joint and then constrain the offset to the control.

Thanks for the response. I initially though of it that way but I ended up convincing the client just to match the joint to the controller for future proofing.
